Domaine de la Besse is more than 45 years of history built around one essential idea:

At Domaine de la Besse, we offer you a preserved site with an exceptional environment and location.
It’s located on a small hill away from the main towns, with a south-facing aspect and a magnificent view of the Ariege Pyrenees. Children’s safety and the spirit of Occitanie nature camping are omnipresent.
An Organic Farm
The 200-hectare Domaine de la Besse farm is made up of woods and meadows where our 50 Gascony Pyrenean cows and horses graze.
For over 20 years, our farm has been certified organic, helping to preserve the quality of the estate’s ecosystem.
An agricultural agreement to delay the mowing season has also been put in place, to preserve the flowering of wild orchids, which are abundant in the Domaine’s meadows.
Our accommodations
Nature chalet rental at Camping La Besse Ariège and mobile homes, includes quality accommodation with optimum comfort, built with sustainable materials and dismantled to minimize the ecological footprint. Their integration into the landscape is the fruit of a spirit that has been passed down through 3 generations.

A daily approach to the environment
Ecotourism rhymes with ecology. At Domaine de la Besse, protecting the environment is based on everyday actions and gestures.
- Precise waste management is in place throughout the estate, through selective sorting, recycling and composting. Small compost buckets are available in each accommodation to enable guests to transport their waste to the composter.
- We use electric carts and heat pumps in our accommodation.
- Water and energy wastage is reduced thanks to water economizers, water recovery and low-energy light bulbs.
- We prefer eco-labelled cleaning and disinfectant products
- Various actions are organized to raise awareness among our customers of best practices in sustainable development and sustainable tourism.
Renewable energy
For over 10 years now, the Domaine has been committed to energy conservation and sustainable development.
Indeed, in 2012, we installed a photovoltaic power plant of over 1,000 m² on our agricultural roofs.
Today, the plant supplies energy for the equivalent of 60 households a year, making our estate self-sufficient in energy.
Local Products and Services
Since its creation, Domaine de la Besse has always been committed to local products.
- During its construction, the estate gave priority to companies from the Ariege and Aude regions, and used local materials for its infrastructure.
- Our customers benefit from local produce and products from nearby farms.
A Natural Swimming Pool
In 2013, we decided to build a Natural Lagoon Pool.
In addition to the fact that the pool is made of sand and the slopes are gentle, this pool uses no chemicals or salt, so that young and old alike can enjoy crystal-clear, healthy water.
