The village of Camon, the only one in the Ari\u00e8ge to have been awarded the “Most Beautiful Villages in France”<\/a> label, will surprise you with its beauty, its narrow streets, its Benedictine abbey and its dry-stone huts.<\/p>

The village also bears the emblem of the rosebush, and is nicknamed the village of a hundred rosebushes. At the foot of every house in the village, a rose bush is planted, giving the village its wonderful colors and scents in May. <\/p>

The village of Camon is located in the middle of a meander formed by the Hers river. The ballade, called the “Tour de l’eau”, is very pleasant and shaded for your summer strolls or jogs.<\/p>

A magnificent abbey that once belonged to the Abbey of Lagrasse. Now privately owned, it can be visited through the tourist office. Take the opportunity to visit the church. <\/p>

On the hill overlooking the village, the inhabitants cultivated vines and cereals, and this is where the dry-stone huts originated. A guided tour of Camon’s huts is organized by the tourist office. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
